How to: Make Cooked Playdough

It's super easy, WAY better than the non-cooked salt dough version, fast to make, and lasts forever!  Well not literally.  But maybe?  I kept the last batch I made, in a ziploc bag in the fridge and we had it for 10 months and was still just as soft and nice as the day I made it.  Seriously.  The only reason I made more, was because my husband took the other to church for a Primary lesson.
Here's the recipe:

1C Flour
1/2 C Salt
1C Water
2 Tbsp oil
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp. food coloring
Combine the dry ingredients in a stove top pot and gradually stir in the water mixed with oil and food coloring.   I mixed mine in with a fork.  Once it's combined I use a wooden spoon to stir.
Stir continually over med-high heat, until a ball forms.  This happens pretty quickly.
Remove from heat and place on a piece of wax paper and knead until smooth.
Keep in an airtight container.
You don't have to keep it in the fridge, but my sister said hers lasts longer if kept in the fridge and I keep mine there.  Like I said before it was still smooth and soft 10 months later.

I Love When I do Something Smart!

Like this!  I've had my thread (that I thought I had a lot of) jumbled up in a small little basket.  I've thought about getting one of those wooden thread holders but didn't want an extra "thing" sitting on the craft table and I'm not ready to hang stuff up on the walls yet, because I'm not sure where I want stuff. (ie: shelfs and such)  I was sitting at my sewing machine, and across the table is a view of this rubbermaid tower with pull out drawers.  I was looking at the little ledge there on the side, when a lightbulb lit up in my mind!  It fits my thread PERFECTLY!  Wish I had thought of this like 2 years ago.  Seeing all my thread out like this and it doesn't appear that I have as much as I thought I did. Ha ha!  That's a good thing though.

We're Just a Bunch of Jokesters Over Here!

Max likes to make little signs and hang them around the house.  Signs that say, No Smoking, Boo, No Parking, Go away, Do Not Lift.  He makes them all the time and at any one time, we have at least 6 or 7 hanging around the house.
Found this one today.
It says:
No Parking

Hop Day

Me:  Lilly, why do you have frog puppets in your backpack?
Lilly: I don't know, yesterday was Hop Day or something.
Me:  You mean Leap Day?

Let Me Think In My Brain

Max:  I want to play a game.
Me:  Okay, What do you want to play?
Max:  Hold on, let me walk around and think in my brain.

Winter Might Be Here....Finally!

We have had snow (albeit light snow) for the 3rd time this week!  I love snow and winter!  I never understand people who don't.  Although come spring, I love that as well. I wouldn't like to live in a place that only had one season.  Hot.  or Cold. I love the changes of the seasons and each new and exciting thing it brings.
