Homemade Apple Pie

So since I couldn't think of anything witty for my Title, you just get what you get (and you don't throw a fit.) So today, among other things (many, many other things) ,I made a homemade apple pie.....with the apples from my grandma of course. I also wanted to try out this:

Aren't you glad you didn't have to wait 45 long minutes for it to cook? or an hour and a half for it to cool down? (And the people you invited over to share it with, to get there. come on we all know that if I wasn't waiting for someone to come over, I would have scooped it out piping hot and runny and eaten it.)
And the final product, sorry the picture came out so crappy and golden looking, I couldn't figure out how to turn off the flash on the camera. (Two fighting kids didn't help). Anyways it was delicious and maybe if you call me soon enough, I'll still have some to share.

To The Dentist We Go

Since Max will be 3 in about 2 weeks, we thought it was high time, he saw the Dentist.   We, (Max and I) showed up at 11:00 on the dot. We had a short wait in the waiting room, where Max helped himself to some goldfish crackers. When they took him back, I got to sit in the "Zen Room" while I waited for him. I  got to sit in their awesome massage chair in a cool dark room, drink cold water, eat snacks and watch something on television that didn't involve cartoon characters. It was heaven.

45 minutes later, they came to get me and I was brought to a happy boy. They told me he did awesome! Even let them take his X-rays! We left with a bag full of  dentistry goodies (toothbrush, floss, toys from the toy chest) a blue balloon, and snacks and drinks for the road. The best part of all NO CAVITIES!

Labor Day= Clean up Day

So, today we spent the first part of the day, cleaning and organizing the kids toys.  We managed to get the kids to part with one large garbage bag full of toys (to donate to D.I.) and we bought the kids some little toy boxes to store the remainder of the toys that wouldn't fit in the toy room organizer.

The second part of the day we spent at Grandma and Grandpa Willes' house.  We got some yummy peaches and apples! I hope to make an apple pie and maybe a peach pie too. Don't they look delish!
Overall, I think the day was a success!

First Blog

So, this the first time I've ever done a blog so I have NO IDEA what I am doing. I guess I will post a picture of a wreath that I made for our door. This is a noteworthy thing, since I am the MASTER of starting projects and never finishing them  (ie Jarrett's long sleeved button up shirt that I started after Christmas and then gave up on once I realized that I had fused the interfacing for the button holes on the wrong side of the fabric) oops. Anyways I used a wire coat hanger (which I really had to dig around to find) and flowers from our garden (free!) I thought it turned our pretty good..what do you think?
