W.C.W Week 2

I've been painting everyday!
This first painting here, I painted once before the one shown.
(The first one was a disaster)

This second one here below, I painted twice before the one shown.
It is helping me learn from my mistakes to keep trying until I get a result I like.
This one was painted from a photograph I took.

You can view my other paintings HERE.

Kiddo's Art work

Max drew himself as a skateboarding stunt boy.

Found this cute drawing in Lilly's backpack.
They have been talking about drugs and smoking at school and how they are bad for you. I assume this  has something to do with that.
I told you they loved that cake.

Monday, January 28, 2013

Well this month hasn't been super eventful.  Church switched to 9am and I love it!! I made Lilly a couple of new dresses.  One is a skirt with a yoga pant top that I made out of some material I've had lying around for the last 5 years.  The other is her favorite and it is made from an old skirt of mine.  It's got skinny three quarter length sleeves.  She looks really cute in it.

The kids have become obsessed with skateboarding
They got skateboards for christmas.
We went to the church parking lot because it was the only place shoveled.

Max loves watching skateboarding videos now instead of Monster Truck ones.

Ww've been sledding a whole lot this year.

Also driving around taking lots of pictures for Instagram

After sledding dinner at Arby's in Heber.

We improved so much we tried out the skate park.
It was lots of fun!
I've become quite good at riding around again and can get around the park pretty good.  At least the parts that were not covered in snow.

Max also has a little finger skate board that he likes to make his stuffed puppy skate on.

We had some FREEZING Temps for about 3 weeks.
It was not above 10 degrees.
So we played Zombie Cuponk.

Made this cake on the Anniversary of my Father's death.
We all got together to eat it.
January 18th was 9 years since he passed away.

This cake was amazing by the way.
I gave about a quarter of the cake to my mom and Amelia and a quarter of the cake to Shaunie and family.
Then we had about the same.
The next night there was only one piece left and it was Jarrett's.
The kids cried because they wanted more.
So I made another entire cake.

We walked to and from school when the temps were above 10ish.
So we usually drove in the mornings and walked in the afternoons.
We got asked twice if we needed a ride.
I should be grateful to the nice people, but walking has become a foreign idea to this obese country.
Plus I didn't know any of the people who offered.
We like to walk!!!
The kids cry and throw fits when we don't walk.
So I know they enjoy it too.

This Last one is Lilly's.
She made it in school.

W.C.W. Week 1

I am trying once again to start painting every week, maybe even every day.
I painted this from a photo I took.
It is up South Fork Canyon
It's been almost 8 months since I've painted and I am feeling a little rusty.
This was the second one I painted of this same scene.
I changed some things from the first one I painted.
There are still things I don't like (Like that HUGE embankment of blue on the left side)
But I learned from the first painting and improved and that's what matters right??
That is one thing I'm going to focus on this year.  When I've painted something I don't like, I'm not just going to hide it in the closet, never to try again, but I'm going to try it at least a second time, and use what I learned the first time to improve.

I took mine and Jarrett's old t-shirt collection and made a pattern using one of Max's old pajamas and made a bunch of pajamas for the kids.

Horrible picture of Max but I made everything the kids are wearing.  Shorts and tops.  And Max's heating bag.

Another not so good picture of Max, but he is wearing another one the pajamas I made him.

The Park in November

Our Elf

This year we had one of Santa's elves come and stay with us.
He would report back to Santa every night at the North Pole.
We would have to look for him in the morning and he would move around during the day!
He has gone back to the North Pole until next year!

Maxo's drawings

Um, not sure.  A vampire for sure.

Santa with his Reindeer.  Rudolph is in the lead.

Watercolor Painting

So I gave out 6 Watercolor paintings for Christmas gifts this year.  It got me in the mood to paint again and I did the above painting.  Go me.  I need to make it a New Year's Resolution again to produce at least one piece of art work a week.
There I did it. It's made.  Now I have to do it.  Especially since it's in type now.
Now to add to it, I'm going to work  on teaching my children about different artists too.  One a week.
