It's Here!!!

Our blog book is finally here!  It looks great and I am very happy.  We went with Blurb.com and got the hard cover, image wrap book!   If anyone is wanting to turn their blog into a book this is a great website to use!

Bibs, Burpcloths, and Babyseat covers

 My younger is sister is having her second baby in March and I've wanted to make her some things for a while and this weekend I finally did.   I made some bibs, burp cloths, and a cover for her baby carrier.

 These projects were so fun and turned out so cute, it almost makes me want to have another!  But then I remember 10 months of throwing up and feeling nauseas and the thought ends there.

New Quilt

 Just finished this up today. I added the border as an after thought, and I think it helped.  It obviously isn't the perfect quilt, but I'm happy with it.  I'm learning, and the only way to do that is to make mistakes.  I can't wait to start on my next one.

Magic Noodles

 Lilly got some Magic Noodles from her cousin William, for Christmas and we finally broke them out last night. Max was very relieved.  For some reason he has had a fascination with them ever since Christmas and since they are Lilly's I kept telling him, we needed to wait for Lilly to be home before we tried them out.
For those of you who don't know what they are, (I didn't) they are styrofoamy feeling  (although they are made out of cornstarch) things that stick together when you get them wet.  They are bio-degradable and completely disintegrate when put under running water. The kids had a lot of fun doing it.  Look at Lilly's smile in the next photo.

Max mostly just stuck them together and tried to figure out how to make them into a monster truck.

Lilly does this funny, (but cute) thing when she gets really excited.  I'm not even sure how to explain it, but she flaps hers arms  and looks around like she is possessed, and she's doing it in this next photo. She's done it since she was very little.  She's also doing it in the first photo.

 For the life of me I could not figure out how to make a Monster Truck out of these things.  But Lo and behold my smart little cookie figured it out all by himself! Look!

 Duh! Why couldn't I think of that.  I forget sometimes to think simple.  I was trying to figure out some elaborate thing, when this is all he needed.  He even got them driving over cars!

Batgirl Pillow Doll

Finished Lilly's Batgirl doll yesterday.  Did anyone notice anything wrong with Max's Batman Doll?  Lilly pointed  out to me yesterday, that Max's, Doll's ,Batman Emblem was wrong.  I did a yellow bat and a black background. OOps! Did anyone else catch that?
If I had a daughter who liked girly dolls, I would totally make these.   When I finished sewing the hair on Max's doll, I thought, this looks a lot like the dolls my Aunt Kristy made for her grand daughters.   I was not even thinking of them when I made Max's doll.  Maybe in my sub conscience  I was, but I thought I'd give her credit for inspiring me.  She's a very talented seamstress and quilter.  She make a lot of  really cute things!

Batman Pillow Doll

 Ever Since I made my scrap fabric pillow Max has loved it! He's always holding it and squeezing it, and laying on it, so....
I thought he might like a Batman pillow.  So I drew out a true to life,rough sketch of how I wanted it to look and then just made up some patterns from the drawing.  I thought Max would like it if the mask and cape could come off, and he does.

I got the idea last night and drew him up before church today, and then finished sewing him this afternoon.  Max loves him and now Lilly wants a Bat girl one.

Happy New Year

 We had a small party for New Years.  Just my mom and sister Amelia (for a little while).  We got some pizza and then played Rockband.  My mom jammed on the keyboard while Amelia and Lilly took turns singing.  Lilly did excellent by the way, scoring above 90 % everytime.  Amelia did pretty good herself.  Jarrett and I switched between the guitar and drums.

 Here is me by the lovely water heater! Nothing says rockstar like a pic by the 'ol water heater.  Or plumbing in the background for that matter.
My sister left to go with some friends around 8:30 and the rest of us played Kinect and had a good time laughing and playing.  My mom left around 10pm  to go hang out with my other sister whose husband had to work and was alone.  Sorry Shaunie:(
Our little family made some Kettle corn and watched Pingu until close to midnight and then watched the ball drop in New York City.  We then headed off to bed when Lil' Wayne came on.
