Fast and Furious...and filled with snow

I got this great idea last Wednesday that we should go down to Arizona to see Jarrett's family for the weekend.  So we left on Friday night at about 5:20pm.  We stopped and ate dinner in Spanish Fork and we pulled into Moab at about 9:30pm.  We were tired and Max was asleep already and we decided to just spend the night.  So we got a great deal for a room at the Motel 6 with 2 double beds for 35$.  Not the best Hotel but it was okay....felt like about 35$.  It had no fan (The kids as well as myself need a fan to sleep.  I've gotten too used to the white noise)  It had a heater and air conditioner unit that pulled in the outside sulfuric air.  Max woke up at 11:30 and was screaming because he didn't know where he was and wanted to go home.  So since we were all up we stayed up and ate snacks until 12:30.   I think the kids fell asleep around 1 or 1:30.  Jarrett stayed up and regulated the heater/airconditoner (when it got too hot) to keep it running so we could fall asleep.   I got up 3 or 4 times after that to turn it either up or down to keep the temperature normal and everyone asleep.  I got probably 3 hours of sleep that night.  Max woke up at 7:00 and everyone else was up shortly after.

We ate breakfast at McDonalds and the kids got these Dragon Ball things that surprisingly they played with the entire time!

We got some more gas (and cleaned the window) and were on our way by 8:30am.   When we were on the last leg of our journey there, we ran into  some snow in this mountainous area we have to go through to get Jarrett's parent house.  There was a lot of slush on the roads since snow plows don;t really plow roads on the Reservation.  We hit a spot of slush and  the car did a 360 almost off the road.  It was pretty scary.  We were lucky there wasn't any cars coming the opposite way and that there surprisingly wasn't any trees lining the road at the spot we ended up.  We sure were glad we had said a prayer that morning! After we stopped spinning, Lilly said "can we do that again!"

This is whale rock I think there is a better picture down further.

Still the dragon ball.  This was on the way home.

Lots and lots of sky!

Better pic of whale rock

The sky was amazing with all the clouds! It was cool to see how the clouds all build up and form.  Here in Utah the mountains are so close you can't always get a good view of this much sky.

Jarrett wanted me to take a picture of this house.  They used that green "delivery" style truck as part of their house.  It's hard to believe that there are still people who live down here without running water or electricity.  It kinda sad actually.

We left Arizona at 12:45, stopped 3 or 4 times for Max to go to the bathroom off the side of the road (poor kids has my bladder)  also stopped for dinner and made it back home at around 8:20pm.  We are glad we went, but also glad to be home!
