This one below was kind of a last minute thought. Flew through it in a flash and I think I like this one better than the others.

love the snow effects and the background washes of the last one. did you use salt?
ReplyDeletethe snow effects are looking beautiful and even though the top ones breaks the rules.... I really love it... looks lovely I think...xx
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the top one. It's still a lovely painting though!
ReplyDeleteHowever, my big fave is the wonderful effect you got with the sky in the barn scene. As soon as I saw your header I was smitten with this picture. It creates such a fantastic atmosphere. Bravo!!
Love the snowy barn scene, the shadows and the snow are wonderful. I think the first painting is great, to me it really conveys the sense of openness and distance that can be so hard to capture in a scene like that.
ReplyDeleteYour first painting spoke to me & reminded me of when I am on vacation. I love when nature gives me a frame for my view. I can spend hours just looking at nature when I have a view like that!
ReplyDeleteThe snowy barn is my favorite. Great use of the greys to make it feel cold. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful winter wonderland. :) Really love the first view.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winter scenes! Love the storminess of the greys.
ReplyDeleteYou just flew through that last one??? Wow! I come here each week to learn a little more about watercolors. You have such a beautiful and distinctive style and much more freedom than I can get. So I keep looking and hoping it will rub off on me. Faye
ReplyDeleteI really like both paintings very much.
ReplyDeleteThe open space in the first is a pleasant surprise, giving my eyes a place the rest.
The snow effects in the second painting are spectacular!
Happy PPF!!

ReplyDeleteI love all the winter moods in each painting. how nice.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful but I really love the last one, especially the interesting way the background seems to dance in the snowflakes!Deb
ReplyDeleteI love the openness of the top piece, very zen and peaceful for me.
ReplyDeleteAll are beautiful, but the first one to me is absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat last painting is hauntingly beautiful! Makes me think of "Silent Night". I love it

Love all your paintings shown on this post; I have many more to enjoy, it seems. The first one, you say needs something in the middle; I love it the way it is because we can use our imaginations to place something there if we wish. I love the calming open space and do not feel it needs anything more!
