Watercolor Wednesday Week 39....On Thursday

Not sure I like the openness of the center of the painting.  Kind of a no no.  Divides the picture too much.  The sky and birds help tie it in a little, but  not sure how I feel about this one.  It's been a couple weeks since I've painted and I'm feeling a little out of practice.  Just need to find the time to paint I guess.   Better luck next week.
This one above is greeting card size.

This one below was kind of a last minute thought.  Flew through it in a flash and I think I like this one better than the others.

    love the snow effects and the background washes of the last one. did you use salt?

    the snow effects are looking beautiful and even though the top ones breaks the rules.... I really love it... looks lovely I think...xx

    I see what you mean about the top one. It's still a lovely painting though!

    However, my big fave is the wonderful effect you got with the sky in the barn scene. As soon as I saw your header I was smitten with this picture. It creates such a fantastic atmosphere. Bravo!!

    Love the snowy barn scene, the shadows and the snow are wonderful. I think the first painting is great, to me it really conveys the sense of openness and distance that can be so hard to capture in a scene like that.

    Your first painting spoke to me & reminded me of when I am on vacation. I love when nature gives me a frame for my view. I can spend hours just looking at nature when I have a view like that!

    You just flew through that last one??? Wow! I come here each week to learn a little more about watercolors. You have such a beautiful and distinctive style and much more freedom than I can get. So I keep looking and hoping it will rub off on me. Faye

    I really like both paintings very much.
    The open space in the first is a pleasant surprise, giving my eyes a place the rest.
    The snow effects in the second painting are spectacular!

    Love all your paintings shown on this post; I have many more to enjoy, it seems. The first one, you say needs something in the middle; I love it the way it is because we can use our imaginations to place something there if we wish. I love the calming open space and do not feel it needs anything more!
