Lesson 2: A "Painting" versus a "Picture."
A Painting is:
A shape with a value change, painted with a variety of color, showing the Artistic Touch while maintaining a strong impact area and sense of unity.
A picture is:
A barn, A wagon, a tree, a window with grass and clouds.
"If you want to create a true painting, learn to focus on a variety of shapes, tonal values and colors while maintaining a strong impact area and sense of unity" Tom Lynch.
